The Grand Design, LLC specializes in complete high-end condominium and home remodeling.  We offer experienced construction management services for all types and phases of residential construction and remodeling.  From small partial remodels and repairs to large full-scale remodels and additions, we work with a team of Maui's finest designers and subcontractors to deliver the highest quality results.  All of our subcontractors are reputable, licensed, insured, skilled tradesmen with substantial experience in Hawaii. Much of our carpentry and finish work is kept in-house, which guarantees that the work is held to the

highest standard.

PETE   GRAND         

Services

Pete Grand's fascination with carpentry and building began at a very early age, inspired by the beautiful Massachusetts Art & Crafts style home he was raised in. He worked as a carpenter in the Boston area for several years while attending college, and was lucky to work on several large, period-style additions and remodels. After graduating from Boston University with a psychology degree in 1994, Pete moved to Maui with the intention of staying for one year.

Thrilled with island life, he worked for two years as a framing and finish carpenter for a South Kihei home builder, learning the basics of building in Hawaii. He worked for several other craftsmen during the next few years, developing his skills in framing, roofing, finish carpentry, millwork, and cabinetry.  In 1999, Pete took a job with a company specializing in high-end condominium remodels. He quickly became a foreman and lead carpenter, and acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to execute large, complicated, custom projects. In 2007, he obtained his contractor's license, and soon after formed his own design, construction, and remodeling company, The Grand Design, LLC.
